SJR Community Interest Co.
SJR Worksop continue to demonstrate their commitment to extending their work within the community through the launch of a Community Interest Company (CIC).
SJR Worksop CIC Values Community Spirit.
SJR Worksop CIC is dedicated to giving back to the community that made us. Worksop helped us become who we are today, and consistently helps us bring good to people through football.
What is SJR Worksop CIC?
SJR Worksop CIC is a not-for-profit community company that will be responsible for generating a positive local impact. The range of projects delivered by the CIC will aim to improve the lives of people living in Worksop and the surrounding areas.
The launch of the CIC has been born out of the extended community work that the club has been delivering over the past year. Club Director Mark Thomas explained:
“We have been working closely with Sheffield FA since September last year to complete a review of the club, to maintain governance and compliance with our rapid growth.
We have now moved on to how we can maximise our contribution to the local community, by completing our Club Impact Calculator with Sheffield FA.
This will highlight the work that the club is now doing in and around Worksop, and the extensive range of partners that the club is working with and hopes to attract. The aim is for this to help us to continue delivering a wide range of positive outcomes for local people” – Mark Thomas, Club Director.

“We are very aware that if the town is to support us, then we must support the town too. Many people are probably unaware of the extensive work we do in the community and the positive impact that we make for the town and its people.
Our Club Impact Report will highlight this work and the range of partners that we work with to deliver these positive outcomes. The development of SJR Worksop CIC was a logical next step to continue to deliver outcomes for Worksop.” – Andrew Guest, Chairman.

“Our school programmes have been a real focus for the club over the past six months as we continue to grow our footprint within the community. We are now working with a range of local partners to deliver some exciting projects that are making a huge difference to many people’s lives.
The CIC company will now house all our schools, community and football programmes to provide greater transparency for how funds are spent and broaden the types of activities we can deliver.” – Martin Williams, Club Director.
SJR Worksop CIC is now on the hunt for additional local partners who would like to work with us to deliver change for Worksop. If you can help us with our goal, get in touch using the button below and send us an email.
